Bitless riding lesson

Enjoy this video of beginner, intermediate and advanced students taking a riding lesson with Laura Coglan of River Ridge Riding Stable in Milton Ontario. Laura had recently switched all her horses to the Nurtural No-Bit Bridle. She found that the horses were calmer & behaved better and that the students learned to ride better. Everyone enjoyed their lessons more! This lesson was filmed on a very hot day in June 2006.

Note from Zoe:
I also feel that I ride better in a Nurtural bitless bridle, as do several friends -- and my horse. I am more aware of how I use my seat and legs. I also learned to use my hands better, with a faster release.
You should have seen the look on my Apaloosa mare, Lady's, face the first time I rode her after she enjoyed several months off to have a foal. She was quite used to giving me a hard time and often winning in battles like, "I want to turn back to the barn now."
But while she was frolicking with her foal in the pasture, I had developed our bitless bridle and taken 15- 20 riding lessons. (That brings my total formal lessons to about 30, maybe.)
The first time we rode past the barn and Lady tried unsuccessfully to pull me off path - she looked back at me as if to say "Well, that's different! What have you been doing since we last rode??" Rides with Lady when we used the bit always ended with two days of aching arms from the constant tug of war. Now that we ride bitless, there are no battles. (She is till not above throwing me off if she gets a chance, but we are working on that ..)

Pardon my rambling!

Enjoy watching the kids ride!
