10. The horses mouth is the most sensitive part of his body. Any bit
no matter how mild causes soft tissue damage every time a horse is
ridden; experienced hands or not!

9. To encourage the rider (myself and others) to use more seat and
less hands.

8. Because the only predictable thing about horses is that they are
unpredictable (a little saying I carry with me whenever something goes
wrong with training).

7. Because bucking, rearing and runaways look so much more cute from
the view in the grand stands at the rodeo, not from on top of your horses back.

6. To develop horsemanship skills in harmony and cooperation with the
horse WITHOUT pain.

5. Because there is almost as many recognized diseases caused or
worsened by using a bit than their are types of bits.
